Description
An original 1910 tourism poster for the Alpine region of Engadine in good condition. Hugo d’Alesi’s ornate, decorative poster captures the idyllic, utopic properties of Engadine, a long winding valley famous for its climate and stunning landscapes. d’Alesi’s poster offers us a view into another time. The Engadine, which is over 100km long connects Switzerland to Austria, and is now famous for its winter sports. d’Alesi’s poster, now over one hundred years old, captures a more peaceful, bucolic scene but is nonetheless framed by the indomitable Alps.
