Description
This is the original 1972 poster for the Tapestries exhibition at Pace Gallery in New York.
This was Pace Editions, Inc., first venture into tapestries, which included stunning hooked and flat weaves by Louise Nevelson, Ernest Trova, Adolph Gottlieb, Frank Stella and Robert Motherwell amongst the 15 artists represented in the collection of 25 examples executed under the supervision of Gloria F. Ross.
The central image is a work by by Robert Motherwell, titled Elegy to the Spanish Republic No. 116, 1970.
