Description
This original poster is one of the series produced for David Hockney’s Retrospective at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 1988. It features Hockney’s painting ‘A Walk Around The Hotel Courtyard, Acatlan’ a large scale painting on two canvases that Hockney produced in 1985 after a stay at the Mexican hotel .
A Walk Around The Hotel Courtyard, Acatlan was a highlight of Hockney’s landmark 1988 retrospective, shown at the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art before touring to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and the Tate Modern in London.
“It has so many different perspectives that you are forced to move your eye constantly…It is a totally impossible view from one point, yet there is a clarity and order about the picture.
