Description
Roger Broders who is one of the best known art deco illustrators and whose work is characterized by elongated glamorous figures and block colours. Here, Broders shows us a luxurious view of Monte Carlo to lure in holiday makers.
“The contrast between the reds, ochres and yellows used to depict Beausoleil and the blacks, grey and deep sea blue of the rest of the poster serves to glorify the city” (Azur p. 156-57).
Beausoleil is in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of France and adjoins the Principality of Monaco to the north.
