Description
Photographed in rich, bold and vibrant colour, this poster for skiing in the Col de Voza is a vintage example of the mid-century ski poster in excellent condition. Situated in the Mont Blanc Massif of France, the Col de Voza – or Voza pass – sits high above the famous ski resort of Saint-Gervais and luxuriates, much like the subjects of this photo, in the shadow of Mount Blanc. The Col de Voza rose in popularity due to the Mount Blanc Tramway that was established in the early 20th C, and gave skiers the opportunity for new sights and experiences. Noury’s striking poster depicts a crowd of happy skiers observing the region’s stunning landscape, while a single female stare holds the camera’s lens, as if inviting the viewer to join her.
