Description
George Hamel, or Géo Ham as he was more commonly known, was a French painter and illustrator famous for his paintings and posters of automobiles and aeroplanes. This classic poster from the 1950s has all the hallmarks of his best work. Ham creates the illusion of speed and the experience of modernity using a surplus of text, bright colours, and aggressive brush strokes. Influenced by Italian futurism and contemporary French art, Ham’s posters remain highly collectable and sought after.
