Description
George Hamel, or Géo Ham’s, promotional poster for the Rallye Monte Carlo, January 1959 is an atypical example of his work. Devoid of his signature motifs – the sun, the blowing scarf and the palm tree – this poster focuses instead on the sloping curves of the car and the sensation of nighttime winter driving. The rally was eventually won by Frenchman Paul Coltelloni in the Citroën DS 19.
