Description
Piet Mondrian is described as one of the most important artists of the avant-garde movement. Shaping the evolution of painting, from figuration to abstraction, he is best known for his linear arrangements of black lines on a white background and the three primary colours blue, red and yellow. This original poster, featuring a typical composition, advertises his 1965 solo exhibition at the renowned Galerie Beyeler in Basel. This year, to mark the 150th anniversary of the artist’s birth, the Fondation Beyeler will once again devote an exhibition to Mondrian.
